Father Richaud's Discovery

Father Richaud was a man who was the discoverer of the Alpha Centauri. It was founded by him in December of 1689. It was discovered while Father Richaud was observing a comet. French astronomer, Abbe Nicolas Louis de Lacille later made some measurements using a meridian circle which is an instrument used for observing the time of stars passing the meridian.

  1. Check your spelling and grammar. You have just a few spots that could be edited.
    Otherwise, great job.

  2. Alpha centauri is the brightest star in its constellation and so you can pretty well guess the star was known for as long as there was a constellation, likely for millenia. What the man did was discover Alpha Centauri was a binary system.
